Your Candidate

I’m Shannon Welsh, a lifelong West Virginian from Clarksburg. Over the years, I’ve worked in medical, tech, finance, and now real estate. No matter the field, my focus has always been on helping people make big choices with confidence. I earned a degree in Political Science with a focus on law, and later an MBA in Business Management with a focus on project management. Friends and coworkers know me as someone who is steady, open, and compassionate.

I’m running for the House of Delegates in District 70 because families and workers deserve a delegate who shows up, listens, and solves problems without the drama of politics. I won’t claim to know every answer, but I will keep learning. My goal is to earn your trust by understanding what’s really happening at your kitchen table, on your job site, and in your neighborhood- and then carrying that truth to Charleston.

My guiding principle is simple: if it helps working people, I’ll stand for it. That means fair pay for honest work, safe streets, a government that plays by the rules, and real support for people who are struggling. It also means clearing away the red tape that slows down small businesses and job growth. I strongly support unions and all workers who keep our communities moving forward. And I believe every West Virginian deserves a fair chance to succeed. When it comes to doing what’s right for District 70, I’ll work with anyone, Republican or Democrat. I’m here to serve you.

How I’ll Earn Your Trust

  • Listening first: I will spend time in neighborhoods, talking with people and learning from your point of view before making decisions.
  • Clear communication: I’ll give updates in plain language about what I heard, what I believe, and why I voted a certain way—so you always know where I stand.
  • Smart decisions: Every choice I make will be guided by data, technology, local knowledge, and your lived experiences.

If you want a voice that is firm, fair, and focused on working families—not political games—I ask for the chance to listen, learn, and work hard for you.
